Biography
Hossein Attar
Founder & President
Hossein Attar immigrated to Canada with his family in 2002, bringing with him 22 years of experience in engineering, executive leadership, finance, and entrepreneurship.
Before coming to Canada, he founded his own private civil engineering contracting company, which successfully delivered 51 major infrastructure and construction projects under his leadership. Throughout his career, he also served as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of several leading construction and investment companies and was a founding board member in the establishment of several private banks.
Recognizing the growing demand for professional foreign exchange and international payment services, Mr. Attar founded his first Canadian foreign exchange company in 2002. As the business expanded and evolved, it was later rebranded as West Bullion Inc., while maintaining its commitment to integrity, regulatory compliance, and exceptional customer service.
To further strengthen his expertise in the precious metals and jewellery industry, Mr. Attar successfully completed the Diamond Essentials program at the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) in Carlsbad, California, gaining specialized knowledge in diamonds and precious gemstones.
Today, with over 25 years of experience in the foreign exchange industry, Mr. Attar leads Attar Currency Exchange and West Bullion Inc., providing trusted foreign exchange, international money transfer, bullion, jewellery, and precious gemstone services. His philosophy has always been simple: building lasting relationships through trust, transparency, integrity, and exceptional service.
History of Attar Currency Exchange
Attar Currency Exchange was established in British Columbia, Canada, in 2002 and officially began providing financial and foreign-exchange services in 2005.
From the outset, our goal was to move beyond the traditional practices of the currency-exchange industry. By combining extensive academic knowledge with practical experience in investment, banking, foreign-exchange markets, and stock markets, we developed a modern, professional, and well-organized approach to serving our clients.
